Volleyball

The Huskies split a pair of league games last week, scoring a 3-1 victory at home against the Yamhill-Carlton Tigers on Oct. 4 before falling 3-0 against the Philomath Warriors on Thursday.

North Marion finished the week on Saturday at the Seaside Tournament, where the team was eliminated by Newport 2-0.

The Huskies play just once this week in a home game that was scheduled for Tuesday.

Boys Soccer

North Marion went unbeaten in a pair of league games at home last week, winning 5-3 over Cascade on Oct. 4 and following with a 4-4 draw against No. 1 Newport on Thursday.

The Huskies have gone 3-1-1 over the past two weeks and have just one game this week, a contest on Wednesday against Yamhill-Carlton.

Girls Soccer

The Huskies fell 6-0 to the No. 4 Cascade Cougars to open the week on Oct. 6, but bounced back with a 1-1 draw against Newport on Thursday.

Sophomore Mar Verastegui scored North Marion’s lone goal in the tie.

The Huskies play just once this week in a road game at Yamhill-Carlton on Wednesday.

Cross Country

Sophomore Saul Tarula led the Huskies to a 24th-place finish at the Paul Merriman Invitational on Saturday at Philomath High School.

Tarula took 130th with a time of 21:03.90 in the 33-team race, followed by teammates Alex Ellington (139th, 21:23.20), Jarrett Adair (149th, 21:55.90), Jesse Agnew (156th, 22:10.50), Wyatt Haberstich (169th, 23:03.80), Arturo Moreno (171st, 23:11.20) and Cole McArthur (176th, 24:28.20).

North Marion’s season continues Saturday at the George Fox Classic at Willamette Mission State Park.
