The North Marion football team returned to action followed a week off to defeat the hosting Stayton Eagles 13-6 on Thursday night in the pouring rain.

Led by senior Samuel Garcia, who rushed for 79 yards and scored the first touchdown of the game, the Huskies built a 13-0 lead they held until the fourth quarter.

North Marion scored its second touchdown of the night in the second quarter when senior Tanner Scanlan picked off the Eagles and took the ball back 41 yards for the touchdown to give the Huskies a two-score advantage.

Stayton attempted to rally in the fourth, scoring on a 52-yard pass, but the comeback attempt fell short on an interception by Husky sophomore Grant Henry.
